Marg grew up in Melville, SK, and completed her nursing training in Weyburn, SK, where she met Edwin Barsi whom she married in 1970. They moved to Trail, BC, for a few years and then to Edmonton after their first daughter was born. They were blessed with a son and a second daughter a few years later. Marg flourished at both motherhood and nursing, and played the piano and organ regularly at church. She was an extremely caring, warm, and devoted woman, and her friends and family meant the world to her. She fought a valiant fight against cancer and remained extremely courageous and positive the entire time. Marg will be remembered for her kindness, musical talents, genuine concern for others, generosity, and her unwavering faith. She is predeceased by her parents, Willis and Ellen Auckland, her brother, Robert Auckland, her brother-in-law, Bill Daunheimer, and great-niece, Brooklyn Siemens. She is survived by her husband, Don Loewen, her sister, Sharon Daunheimer, her three children Richelle (Steve), Greg (Maria), & Sharla (Sean), Don’s two children, Monica (Jackie) and Trevor (Nicole), her two granddaughters, Jocelyn & Chloe, Don’s four grandchildren, Shyelle, Syanne, Jacob, & Mason, as well as many cousins, nieces, nephews, and extended family, all of whom she loved very much. A Celebration of Marg’s Life will be held at Beulah Alliance Church, 17504 - 98A Ave NW, Edmonton, on Monday, March 28, 2011, at 1:30pm. In lieu of flowers and if friends so desire, donations may be made in Marg’s name to Hope Mission, Box 953, Edmonton, AB, T5J 2L8.
